Hurricane Harvey Days 1 and 2 - Compared to some, we are perfect!
Having only lost a few segments of back yard fence and still having 100% of our utilities still functioning, we feel extremely lucky. The boys are having a movie weekend and I'm glad we have an extensive library of hard-copy media here, so even if the internet goes out, we are in no danger of excessive boredom. That being my primary concern during this storm reinforces how lucky we are at this moment.
Yesterday (8/26/17) was spent watching Smurfs: The Lost Villiage, Boss Baby, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and playing at Catch Air, where the boys had a blast playing while watching the rain dump down on the parking lot through their very large front windows. Quite a contrast from the evacuation and severe damage occurring within a mere 100 miles or less. People losing their lives and livelihoods while we play. Did I mention how lucky we are?
Today is Ratatouille (the movie, not the food), Chicken fried steak, and pork loin cutlets, thus cementing our current status of ridiculously fortunate. Let us give thanks...and pray for the best for all less fortunate.
